A Riverstone Simple Funeral is held in our hall at Riverstone in Buckfastleigh on a mutually convenient date for you and us. 

A simple service will be led by our celebrant, with contributions from family or friends who provide the eulogy, or tributes.

You can include readings and music of your choice. The Riverstone Simple option takes advantage of the lower priced unattended cremation services at Torbay Crematorium whilst also allowing space and time for you to hold a short, personal ceremony in a beautiful setting.

The fixed fee covers all of the following:

• A meeting at our office with a funeral director to explain what will happen and to plan the funeral.

• Completion of the necessary paperwork.

• Collection and care of the person who has died, from 8am - 6pm, Mon - Fri.

(Please note - there's an additional charge of £200 for collecting the person who has died outside of these hours, from a private home, hospice or care home.)

• Dressing of the person who has died.

• A simple, cardboard coffin.

• The celebrant’s fee for (up to) a 45 minute service – if you choose to include a eulogy, you will need to provide this. 

• A funeral service at Riverstone on a mutually agreed weekday, at a time of our choosing.

• 1 visit with the person who has died, at Riverstone.

• Transport of the person who has died to the crematorium in our, grey estate hearsette.

• The funeral director on the day.

• The costs of a private, unattended cremation at Torbay Crematorium.

• The ashes can be scattered in the Garden of Rest at the crematorium, or you can collect them from us. 

• Support from our team throughout, during office hours.
